Brothers and Sisters,
One of the things that escapes my own ability to understand is the masses of people that choose to refuse Jesus free gift of salvation. Many of those people will exist to regret that decision. It leaves my heart saddened for them, but so thankful for that day, when God sent that young man into my life when I was only 11 years old, who introduce me to His son Jesus.
What does God say...
Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
Revelation 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Point to ponder....
From the very moment in life when God gave man the free will to follow Him or satan in the garden of Eden, many people will still refuse that free gift of salvation from Jesus. God did use His son Jesus to pay the ransom for our debt that we owed for our sins, with the shedding of His own blood. But what God will never do is force that gift upon anyone.
Just like those 7 days after the ark was loaded with all the animals, Noah was waiting for the rain to flood the earth so the ark would set sail. That door to the ark was left open for 7 days, allowing for anyone of those other people, his neighbors, friends and those who laughed at Him to enter into that ark. But none of them did, and they all perished.
A similar door is still open for the lost soul to call upon the name of Jesus and exchange their sins for Jesus forgiveness. Sadly many of them will watch as that door closes without them when Jesus returns for His Church/bride on the day of the Rapture, the same way those watched when the door to the ark was finally closed by the Hand of God.
There are many people who feel they have all they need in life, but do not have Jesus as their personal Savior. But are they truly happy? Satan has them convinced that they are. They even attend Church and claim to be Christians but are not, because they never repented of their sins and failed to accept Jesus free gift of salvation. They are not Born Again.
Revelation 3:15-20 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
They have nothing because they do not have Salvation thorough Christ. How many times have those people felt Jesus knocking on their hearts' door, only to ignore Him? All that people strive to acquire here on earth awaits those who become Born Again. Those true riches await them in the kingdom of God, not here on earth.
Application Part...
1. Know that all possessions here on earth shall be destroyed with the earth and all of it's evil.
2. Work to acquire eternal peace and happiness through a growing relationship with Jesus, because you will not find what you are looking for in the form of true happiness here on earth.
3. Know that the door to salvation will be closed in our lifetime, and no man will ever be able to open it up again. For Jesus was the only one who opened it up, and it shall be closed with His hand.
4. Learn to recognize the lies and temptation of satan that holds you back from moving forward with Jesus.
5. Don't make the things you can't take with you when you leave this world more important than the life Jesus has planned for you in His kingdom.
6. Always pray that the Lord keeps your eyes opened and fixed upon Him and not on the temptations of satan.
7. Be grateful for the gifts God blesses you with, though temporary that they may be, but never make them more important than the one who gave them to you, the Almighty God Himself.
Let us pray...
Father,
I am grateful for the door You have opened up for me and the courage and willingness I had to walk through it the day I became a Born Again Christian. I can only pray that it stays open long enough for the rest of my family and friends and their family and friends to find their way through that same glorious door to salvation. Father, I praise and thank You for the privileged and honor You have bestowed me through Your son Jesus. In His precious name. Amen!
God bless you always
Carol
2 Corinthians 6:17-18 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
