Brothers and Sisters,
When you go out to dinner to eat, you know what it is you are wanting the waitress to tell the cook to prepare for you. You are specific when you order as well. You know how you want your steak cooked, you know which veggies you want with that steak as well. You know with out a doubt that you have the perfect meal coming you way once that ticket with you order is placed in front of that cook. You are confident aren't you?
But what about when you place your order with the Lord when you pray to Him? Do you pray with that same confidence you have in that cook at the restaurant, but in prayer with the Lord? Do you conclude your prayer with one of thanks and praise long before your prayer is answered?
What does God say...
Psalm 5:1-3 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Point to ponder...
David clearly is setting a morning time to spend with the Lord. He is directly asking Him to listen to what he has to say to Him. He is placing his order for the day before the Lord to fill for Him. By David looking up as he states in verse three, he is showing the Lord that without a doubt he knows that the Lord will fill that order for Him. He has total and complete faith in the Lord's perfect will for him.
We too can achieve what David did when he placed his prayer request/order before the Lord. We must pray in total and complete faith as he did.
Application part...
1. Place your order and be specific in your prayers to the Lord.
2. Review the Lord's attributes. This will automatically show you where you fall short of the glory of God.
3. Do not hide the fact that you hurt, and tell Him in detail why you are having trouble keeping up with His footsteps in life.
4. Remind yourself that Jesus will fight for you. That you don't have to do that for yourself.
5. Reflect upon 2 or 3 of His promises to you. This will recharge you when you need it.
6. Stand firm upon His Word/ the rock with a joyful confidence.
7. Share your testimony with others, describing in detail how you now feel better than you did before, when you felt so discouraged, and are now lifted up by the hand of the Lord through your continued fellow shipping with Him daily.
8. If you are not sure that your prayers are being heard, try changing the time of day you spend with the Lord.
9.David choose to pray in the morning before his day began. That actually seems to be a good place to start.
10 The beginning of your day is freed from mistakes because you haven't been up long enough to have made any yet at this point.
11. Ask the Lord to help you keep that clean slate that you started out with that morning, clean by way of His guiding you in the right direction, even if that path my not be one you would choose for yourself. God knows best.
Let us pray...
Father,
Because your will is greater and more righteous than my own, it is Your will for my life that I seek. I don't want to live a life of constant mistakes. I don't want to find myself in a comfort zone, that just because I am habitual in my routine, and that I can be opened to a change in that routine, should you deem it necessary in order for me to break a bad cycle in my life. I praise You for that change in my life.
Father, I am confident that when I turn to You in prayer that You will fill my order that I place with You. I know this because i am setting aside my own personal desires and replacing them with Yours for me. Because my own wants and goals thus far have caused me to fall short of Your glory of which I so desperately seek. I don't' want any more distractions in my life, because I want to be focused on what I can do to feel closer to You, and not to the earthly things that give me a false sense joy.
Father, I want and desire that spiritual joy that can only come from You. And that joy is not temporary but eternal. I praise and thank you for hearing my prayer, knowing my needs, and putting Your will to work for me before I finish my prayer to You today. In Jesus precious name, I praise and thank You. Amen!
Prayer request... We have many people in our lives today that are still living a life in total spiritual darkness. Perhaps many of them are family members. We need to remember to also lift up those who we have have never met before, because a stranger is still a friend that God has not yet introduced us to. Let us also remember to lift up our president in prayer to the Lord, for he is in desperate need of the Lord's intervention, even though he isn't aware of it or willing to admit it. Our future remains in the hands of our loving Lord Jesus. Our Lord is a gentleman. He won't take it from us if we don't willingly give it up to Him.
God bless you always.

1 Corinthians 6:16-18 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Thanks sis!!
