Brothers and Sisters,
Have you given much thought about our Lord's return for His church? Do you enjoy thinking about the return of our Lord? When you love someone, you want to be with that person all the time if it were possible wouldn't you? That is if your love for them was real. When you are separated from your loved ones for more than one day, don't you find yourself missing them, and longing to be with them again? If you really loved them you would.
The love you have for your family and loved ones should cause you to think of them when you are away from them, and you should look forward to seeing them again, and being with them again. That is what loving someone does to you. It draws you into wanting to be with them as for long as possible.
But is your love for the Lord the same as your love for your family? It Should be even greater. Ask yourself these questions and quiz yourself...
1. Do you long to be with the Lord, seeking His face daily, praying to Him as often as you can?
2. Is He your first thought in the morning when you wake up?
3. Do you sing His praises for the extra day of life He just blessed you when when you opened up your eyes for the first time after a long night of sleep?
4. Does your heart warm when you think of His name of Jesus, and just can't keep from smiling at the thought of His name?
5. Do you feel homesick to be with the Lord in Heaven?
6. Another question is.... Are there actions behind what you say when it concerns your love for the Lord, or is it just plain words?
What does God say...
1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1 Corinthians 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
Point to ponder.....
The sad Fact is that most people, and this includes Christians, do not really love God the way they say they do. This can easily be proven by comparing our Christian testimony to a good healthy marriage. If a married couple truly loves one another, then there will be clear evidence of it. The same is true when a person loves God.
Ask yourself these questions...
1. How can a marriage survive if the love is not there?
2. How long would you give that marriage if the couple never talks to one another or doesn't spend time with each other?
3. And how is that any different from your relationship with the Lord right now?
4. And don't you realize that our relationship here on earth with the Lord, is much like the courtship before the marriage of the church/bride, (us) to Jesus?
5. Do you think you would have gotten to the altar with your spouses on your wedding day, if your relationship was as distant and as part time as some of our personal relationships might be with the Lord today?
If you truly love God, you will listen to Him when He is speaking to you. You will turn to Him in all aspects of your life, be them good or bad. You will not be ashamed of your relationship with Him, for everyone will see that you have that special bond with the Lord through your daily activities, behavior, speech etc. And not just on Sundays when you are in church either.
A Christian who truly loves the Lord will put their own needs and desires aside, and seek the face and will of Him first. Love the Lord with all their heart, mind and soul, and the blessings will cover you afterwards. Simply put, Jesus knows our needs before we do, He will provide them.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Psalms 105:4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
God's desire for you, His will for all of us is that we continually seek Him, love Him, praise and thank Him, giving Him all the glory for all things in life. For this life is merely a spring board into the kingdom of God, for those of us who desire the will of God, obey Him and do His will. Why??? He is our king who sits on His throne from above. And that should be sufficient enough.
Psalms 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
Psalms 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Application part...
1. Humble yourself and call upon the name of the Lord daily.
2. Know that you don't have to see Him with your eyes. to know He is standing right next to you right now.
3. Know that If you are not homesick for heaven, you have not let go of the earthly things you have in this world yet. You need to let go of those emotional ties to this world.
5. There are many people who describe their love for their spouses as not being able to live or breathe without them. So how does your relationship with the Lord compare to a statement like that?
6. Remember the final prayer said to the Lord by John on the island of Patmos....
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
5. Don't allow your hardships to separate you from the blessings, mercy and love of God, or distance you from Him, because of your blaming Him for those hardships. Because He's not at fault. Satan is.
6. Use those hardships to bring you closer to God, and accept them as His will for His reasons. He will bring you out of them victoriously! God will not forsake you.
Forsake...A primitive root meaning to push aside, that is, reject, forsake, fail: - cast away (off), remove far away (off).
7. Keep your eyes on the Eastern sky, for that is the direction our Lord Jesus will be returning for His church/ bride from.
Let us pray....
Father,
I know that there is nothing in this world that can compare to what you have awaiting me in Your kingdom. The peace and tranquility I long for will not be obtained in this world, but in Your kingdom alone in the presence of Your son Jesus. Keep me focused on what is righteous, and shield me from all distractions in life that take my eyes off of Jesus.
Father,I need to remain ready, focused and prepared, for only You know when You will be sending Jesus back for us. Keep my spiritual eyes opened and alert always. I praise and thank You for choosing me to be a part of that glorious wedding between us and Your son Jesus, when You decide the time is to be. In the precious name of Jesus I praise and thank You. Amen!
Prayer request for our sister Christy.... Please Join me in lifting up our sister Christy to the Lord, for His healing hands to be placed upon her eye that was just operated on. Her retina is once again separating it's self from her eye, and she is now once again in danger of loosing her eyesight. She fell into that percentile of people who have their retina detach itself again after surgery.. We don't know why this is happening, but we lift it up to the Lord, that He open all doors for healing and providing her with the means to pay for this second surgery. We praise and thank our Lord Jesus for this blessing of healing. In His precious name. Amen!
God bless you always..

1 Corinthians 6:16-18 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
